Ever since the internet became a big part of our lives, parents have warned children not to talk to strangers online.
Many young people today have grown up with the knowledge that “stranger danger” doesn’t just refer to people they come across on the street.
Unfortunately, there are lots of creeps out there, and they love using social media to contact people. Sometimes, it happens to adults, who can typically handle the situation on their own — like Rebecca McGregor, who reacted to a stranger’s unsolicited nude photos by forwarding them to his mother.
When young children are contacted by online predators, though, they may not realize the strangers that they’re talking to aren’t who they say they are.
Brad Summer’s daughter, Madi, was recently the target of an online predator — and it’s a good thing her parents are so involved because they were able to stop the creep before things got out of hand.
Read below to see how Madi and her parents dealt with this online predator.
